Anacan Happy Anni

It was a delightful dilemma. Ruby gave us 6 beautiful puppies - 1 boy and 5 girls - but which girl to keep? Anni's colouring caught one's eye, along with her wonderful temperament and beautiful type, but her black sister, Silhouette, had such a beautiful head and lovely conformation and movement as well. The solution -- keep them both! Anni is a real love, and very definitely 'my' girl, whining whenever I walk out of sight. Her first show was a baptism by fire as it was a 5 hour drive to Paignton. But I could not have been happier with how she behaved and she came home with her first Best Puppy and finished out 2011 as Top Canaan Dog Puppy. One of the highlights of the 2011 show year was when, under Israeli judge, Myrna Shiboleth (accepted as the foremost authority on the breed) awarded Anni not only Best Puppy, but also Best Bitch and Best of Opposite Sex. Myrna said of Anni, who was 10 months old at the time, "Excellent type of good size, substance and correct body proportions. Athletic. Nice head and expression, lovely eye. Body still developing but correct angulation and proportions. Moves very well, a bit close behind. Excellent tail set and carriage. Excellent temperament." We were extremely pleased with that critique. Though Anni can be naughty at times-- for some reason she enjoys destroying her bedding -- she mostly makes us laugh with her antics. She loves playing with our Max, which is also very nice for him and is very affectionate with us. We are grateful to Ruby for giving Anni to us. |
