'Jasmine' was 3 years old when she came to us. Her breeder/owner, Gina Pointing, had moved to a flat where
she was unable to keep two dogs. So she opted to keep 'Jazzy's' mother 'Golda' and we bought 'Jasmine' from her.
A month after she came to live with us Ellen showed her at Crufts where she won BOS. That year, 1995, "Jazzy" ended up as the Pedigree/DOG WORLD Top Canaan Dog in the UK. She was shown for only a short time before a stint in the whelping box where she and our 'Digger' produced 4 lovely puppies...which included our Sheindela and Anacan Forever Amber. Though shown only sparingly at championship shows that give the breed classes, 'Jasmine' took Best Bitch each time out in 1998. At Crufts 1999 'Jazzy' won Best Bitch and BOS and her daughter, Anacan Forever Amber took Reserve to her mum. 'Amber' has since gone on to be the overall Top Canaan dog in the UK 2002 & 2003! 'Jasmine' is a very typey and feminine bitch with a gorgeous face she passed on to her offspring and grandkids. She can still move very well around a show ring in Veterans Class at the Canaan Dog Club of the United Kingdom's open shows and is still an extremely outgoing girl. You have to be careful though or she will french kiss you! On the 12th March 2002 we had to have 'Jasmine' spayed due to a uterine infection. Thanks to our veterinarian's skills and her characteristic Canaan health, she quickly recovered and was back to her old self. A loving companion, show dog and excellent producer all rolled into one, 'Jazzy' has been an excellent addition to our household and a great breed representative at The Kennel Club's DISCOVER DOGS. We are so happy Gina allowed us to have her. |
