'Remy'(short for 'Rembrandt') is out of a litter resulting from a breeding of the UK's overall
top-winning Canaan, 'Digger', and the top-winning bitch, 'Beulah"' Great things were hoped for
this litter, and we don't think we've been let down. 'Remy' finished 2000 as Top Canaan Puppy.
'Remy' is a loveable rogue...a real character. He loves his cuddles (and his food) and is playful with
the rest of the gang. He adores our Tibetan Spaniel, 'Willow', and he rough and tumbles with her all the time. 'Remy' has an absolutely gorgeous head, with beautiful type and conformation. Though the youngest dog exhibited at Crufts 2001, "Remy" came home with the Reserve Best Dog rosette. Then at Crufts 2004, in an entry of 25 Canaan Dogs ,which included 3 overseas champions, won Best of Breed under well-respected Group judge, Mr Bob Gregory.
'Remy' became a dad for the first time on the 17th June 2001 which was, appropriately, Father's Day. His bride, Babrees Bat Benyas, presented him with 5 gorgeous puppies, a daughter and 4 sons. One of the puppies, a black boy named Nizzana Hadad For Lorianna ('Simi' for short) won a Puppy Group 4 at his first open show on the 5th January 2002! 'Simi' has since gone on to many wins and in April 2004 won an open show Best in Show -- the third Canaan Dog in the UK to do so, all out of Anacan background. 'Remy' has since gone on to sire two outstanding litters for us, one out of our 'Lottie' in July 2003 and one out of our 'Tara' in October 2004. We have kept one of the 'Tara' puppies and Anacan Dressed For Success, aka 'Monkey' (sorry, but that is what Richard named her) qualified for Crufts at her second show ever at 6 months of age.
We are very proud of our "Remy" and love having him as part of our family.
