'Remy'(short for 'Rembrandt') is out of a litter resulting from a breeding of the then UK's overall
top-winning Canaan, 'Digger', and the top-winning bitch, 'Beulah'. Great things were hoped for
this litter, and we weren't let down, as Remy went on to do well in both the show ring and as a sire, and his litter brother, 'Abraham', was the first Canaan Dog in the UK to win a Best in Show at an open show.
'Remy' is a loveable rogue...a real character. He loves his cuddles (and his food) and is playful with
the rest of the gang. He adores our Tibetan Spaniel, 'Willow', and when younger he rough and tumbled with her all the time. 'Remy' has an absolutely gorgeous head, as well as beautiful type and conformation. He finished 2000 as Top Canaan Puppy. Though the youngest dog exhibited at Crufts 2001, 'Remy' came home with the Reserve Best Dog rosette. Then at Crufts 2004, in an entry of 25 Canaan Dogs, which included 3 overseas champions, (the largest entry to-date) he won Best of Breed under well-respected Group judge, Mr Bob Gregory.
'Remy' became a dad for the first time on the 17th June 2001 which was, appropriately, Father's Day. His bride, Babrees Bat Benyas, presented him with 5 gorgeous puppies, a daughter and 4 sons. One of the puppies, a black boy named Nizzana Hadad For Lorianna ('Simi' for short) won a Puppy Group 4 at his first open show on the 5th January 2002! 'Simi' has since gone on to many wins and in April 2004 won an open show Best in Show -- the third Canaan Dog in the UK to do so, all out of Anacan background. 'Simi' was later shown abroad and became multi-titled. 'Remy' then went on to sire two outstanding litters for us -- one out of our 'Tara' in October 2003, which produced our lovely Anacan Dressed For Success, and one out of our 'Lottie' in Septemer 2004 which produced Anacan Kefira and Anacan Sheer Elegance, gorgeous girls who have wonderful show records.
Now a 'senior citizen', we are still very proud of our "Remy" and love having him as part of our family.
